A very proud coach at Huracan FC Teso Uganda’s first professional tournament
After an incredibly challenging year at Huracan FC Teso Uganda, with pregnancy rates running at 80%, many girls forced to marry by their parents and shocking numbers having been sexually abused, hear here from Project Leader Charles about his wonderful end to the year when his team of girls made the whole community proud at their first professional tournament.
Can you help keep more Huracan girls in school in 2022?
We know that the last two years have been particularly challenging for the girls in our Huracan communities - in particular our Project Leaders tell us repeatedly about the shocking numbers of school age girls that have fallen pregnant during the school closures. So we are kicking off 2022 with a real focus on the girls in each of our projects and we would love your support to make 2022 a much brighter one for each and every one of them. We really hope that this year our projects will be the catalyst and the impetus to ensure that the girls in our communities do return to the classroom when their schools re-open and give them the equal chance they deserve to access education.
