Child case

Name: Zabdi Amisadai Pérez Correa

Age: 11 years old

Background: She participates in U14 training activities four to five hours a week. She started as a defender and now also takes up the midfield position, being now able to play in both positions. She is one of the captains of the women's team.

Project Impact: Despite the context of violence and scarcity in which he has grown up, he currently maintains a good academic performance. He is a member of his school's escort, which is a role that is given as recognition for the best average students. As well as showing improvement in his technical development and ability, he has also shown improvement in his confidence, self-esteem and leadership. He is becoming more self-directed, assisting with on-field coaching, mentoring and accompanying his teammates in the execution of drills.

Rocío Moreno, project leader of Huracan FC Ecatepec

“I feel as I have long wished to see my fellow human beings: empowered and feeling able to develop and exercise my agency for the common good; meeting the challenges of the environment with the support of our communities and collective actions.

I have learned to look at the sport from a different perspective, as I now value its potential for community wellbeing as never before. As well as the positive identity, academic and socio-emotional impact it has on children, youth and families, because through the Huracán Academy, I have been able to acquire more knowledge in the technical field.”
